 PISD Merit Scholar Mentoring Program

Pasadena ISD has had numerous students achieve the ultimate academic achievement of being named a National Merit Scholar semi-finalist. This elite academic award honors the top 1% of students in the nation. It has become a goal of PISD to empower and prepare our students to make the top honor of becoming the first in PISD to achieve the National Merit Scholar Honor.

In an effort to guide our youth towards this goal, LF Smith Elementary has created Team Scholar. Selcted students in grades 3-5 will meet monthly with the school counselor to review National Merit Scholar qualifications as well as plan academic and career goals. These students will be mentored  through high school in hopes that with guideance they may one day achieve their fullest potential and become a National Merit Scholar.
