Dear L.F. Smith School Families,
Welcome to our 2023-2024 school year! We hope you’ve had a fantastic summer, we are saddling up to make our 2023-2024 school year a success. My name is Enrique Garza, your new Assistant Principal for L.F. Smith Elementary. For the past 11 years I’ve served in various positions including Bilingual Teacher, Dual Language Teacher, Instructional Coach, and now I get the privilege of being your Assistant Principal.
Our commitment to building positive relationships and providing a challenging and innovative curriculum where all students make great academic growth will continue to be our mission here at L.F. Smith Elementary. We look forward to a great year of academic growth for our students as investing in our students' education today will provide for a brighter future tomorrow.
Here at LFS, we believe that collaboration with students, parents, educators, and community leaders will result in a stronger community. We encourage you to be involved in your child’s education by volunteering in classrooms and being a member of our Dads on Patrol program. Our student’s attendance is paramount to their success and our goal continues to be at 98%! As your Chief Attendance Officer my pledge to you is to maximize your child's learning. I will work with our families to improve our students' attendance. We are committed to our students, our staff and our community; together we can guide our students to becoming productive citizens that are able to problem solve, innovate, and advocate for their community.
As your new Assistant Principal, I will work diligently to provide all students a safe and collaborative working environment where every student develops high academic growth. We have the best school, best students, best staff, and best community; we look forward to a great academic year of growth for all of our students. Go Tigers! Grrr!

¡Bienvenidos a nuestro año escolar 2023-2024! Esperamos que haya tenido un verano fantástico, nos estamos preparando para que nuestro año escolar 2023-2024 sea un éxito. Mi nombre es Enrique Garza, su nuevo subdirector de L.F. Smith Elementary. Vengo con 11 años de experiencia educativa: maestro bilingüe, maestro lenguaje dual, entrenador de instrucción, y ahora tengo el privilegio de ser su subdirector.
